Ingredients

1 Portions
Metric Imperial
  • 1 kg
    Potato
  • 101 ml
    Milk
  • 100 ml
    Fresh cream
  • 60 g
    Butter
  • 1
    Salt Appropriate amount
  • 1
    Pepper Appropriate amount
  • 1
    Nutmeg (if available), appropriate amount
Cooking time: Approximately 40 minutes
Ingredients:

For 4 people

  • Potato 1kg
  • Milk 100ml
  • Fresh cream 100ml
  • Butter 50-60g
  • Salt Appropriate amount
  • Pepper Appropriate amount
  • Nutmeg (if available), appropriate amount

How to make it:

1/ Peel the potatoes and cut them into large pieces.

2/ Put the potatoes in a pot, add enough water to cover the potatoes, add coarse salt or a little salt, and simmer over medium heat until soft.

3/ Warm the milk and cream in the microwave (← Key point!)

4/ When the potatoes are soft, drain the water, return the pot to low heat, and stir to evaporate the water.

5/ Add the butter and mash the potatoes with a masher.

6/ Add warm milk and fresh cream little by little and mix. Add a little nutmeg and season with salt and pepper.

★The important point is to add warm milk and fresh cream. The potato puree can be served warm.
★Please use milk, fresh cream or crème fraîche according to your preference. If you prefer a richer taste, we recommend fresh cream or crème fraîche, and if you prefer a lighter taste, we recommend milk.
★The more butter you use, the richer the flavor will be. Please adjust the amount to your liking as well.
★It’s one of the popular items in our house, so it’s a side dish that often appears. I always make 1kg of potatoes because they disappear in no time. In the unlikely event that I have any left over, I re-introduce it to the next day’s lunch box or dinner side menu.
★Potato puree is useful as a side dish for various dishes. On this site, we also have marinated and oven-baked chicken with paprika powder lemon sauce, so please try it out!
