It seems to have originated in Italy and Spain, but it is also a staple summer salad or appetizer item in France. The combination of fresh, sweet melon and salty prosciutto is perfect for a hot day, and it’s easy to prepare. It tastes even better when served with port wine!

Ingredients

1 Portions
Metric Imperial
  • 1
    piece of melon
  • 200 g
    Your favorite raw ham
Cooking time: 10 minutes
Ingredients:

For 4-8 people

  • 1 piece of melon
  • Your favorite raw ham Appropriate amount (100-200g)
How to make it:

1/ Cut the melon into 4 to 8 equal pieces (as many as required).

2/ Make a slit in the bottom of the skin with a knife to make it easier to eat, then cut into 4 to 5 equal pieces.

3/ Place the prosciutto on the melon and serve.

★If you add bread and butter, it can also become a main dish.
★Port wine is a Portuguese wine, but it has a higher alcohol content than regular wine and is a little sweeter, so it goes perfectly with melon. Another method is to pour port wine directly onto the melon. If you have it in a small glass like in the photo, you can enjoy each flavor. Please try as many as you like.
