Homemade Burger Sauce
1/ Make the Patties: In a bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and soy sauce. Mix well, then shape into flat hamburger patties.

2/ Rest the Patties (Optional): Wrap each patty individually in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 15–30 minutes.
This helps prevent them from losing shape and drying out.

3/ Prepare the Special Sauce: In a bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, tomato paste, mustard, lemon juice, and salt until smooth.

4/ Cook the Bacon: Heat a frying pan without oil, add the bacon, and cook until crispy. Remove and set aside.

5/ Prepare the Vegetables: Slice the tomato into rounds and wash the lettuce leaves, drying them well.

6/ Cook the Patties – First Side: In a separate large frying pan, heat a thin layer of oil over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 2–2½ minutes on the first side until browned.
7/ Cook the Patties – Second Side: Flip the patties and cook the other side for 1½–2 minutes until browned.

8/ Steam and Melt the Cheese: Cover the pan with a lid, reduce the heat to low, and steam for 2–3 minutes until cooked through. Just before turning off the heat—or while still on low—place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty, cover again, and let it melt for 30 seconds to 1 minute.

9/ Fry the Eggs: Using the same pan you used for the bacon, cook the eggs to your desired doneness.
10/ Assemble the Burgers: Slice the buns in half. Spread the special sauce on the bottom half, then layer with lettuce, a patty, tomato slices, bacon, and—if desired—a fried egg. Add more sauce if you like, then top with the other half of the bun.

11/ Serve and Enjoy: Plate with French fries or a salad (such as tuna coleslaw) and serve immediately.

⭐ Keep Patties Flat & in Shape: Burgers tend to puff up in the center while cooking, but you can prevent this by gently pressing a small indentation in the middle when shaping. For an even better result, wrap each patty tightly in plastic wrap 🧊, arrange them in a single layer, and refrigerate for 15–30 minutes. This helps prevent drying, keeps their shape, and gives you that beautiful sear—bringing your patties closer to a true burger-joint look and texture.
⭐ Go for a 100% Beef Patty 🥩: While mixed ground meat works well, using 100% beef creates a more authentic flavor with juicy, rich umami.
⭐ Customize the Fillings 🥑: This recipe skips pickles, but you can add them if you like—or try extras such as avocado, grilled vegetables, or caramelized onions for your own signature burger.
⭐ Choose Your Buns Wisely 🥯: In my local Berlin supermarket, I always pick up my favorite brioche buns. They’re soft, slightly sweet, and pair perfectly with juicy patties and salty bacon.

⭐ Don’t Forget the Sides 🍟: Nothing pairs better with a burger than crispy fries! Check out my French fries recipe here. 👉Currywurst – Grilled sausage and tomato curry sauce served with fries
