For 4 people:
1/ Prepare the Parmesan: Grate the Parmesan cheese and set aside.
2/ Boil Water for the Tortellini: Fill a large pot with water, add a pinch of salt, and bring it to a boil.
3/ Cook the Bacon: Heat a frying pan over medium heat, add the bacon, and sauté until crispy. Remove from the pan and set aside.
4/ Start the Sauce Base: In the same frying pan, melt the butter. Add the heavy cream and let it simmer gently over low heat.
5/ Add the Gorgonzola: Cut the Gorgonzola cheese into small pieces and stir them into the cream until fully melted and smooth.
6/ Cook the Tortellini: Once the water is boiling, add the tortellini and cook according to the package instructions.
7/ Combine and Serve: Drain the cooked tortellini in a colander, then add it to the sauce in the frying pan. Stir in the grated Parmesan (and a little extra butter if you want a richer flavor). Add the sautéed bacon, mix well, and serve immediately.
🌟Tortellini Tips, Serving Ideas, and Fun Facts🌟
⭐️ Know Your Tortellini: Tortellini are small, ring-shaped pasta from the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, traditionally filled with meat, cheese, or vegetables. They’re often served in broth, but their delicate size and shape make them perfect for rich, creamy sauces like this one🥟
⭐️ Add a Fresh and Flavorful Finish: Before serving, sprinkle with fresh parsley and an extra dusting of Parmigiano cheese for a burst of color and flavor.
⭐️ Swap the Cheese to Suit Your Taste: You can replace the Parmigiano with your favorite shredded cheese—try Pecorino for a sharper bite or mozzarella for a creamier touch.
⭐️ Tailor the Portion to Your Appetite: Adjust the amount of tortellini to match your hunger—whether it’s a light lunch or a hearty dinner, make it just right for you.
⭐️ Pair with the Perfect Wine: Serve this creamy bacon and Gorgonzola tortellini with a crisp white wine like Pinot Grigio, or go bold with a light red such as Chianti to balance the richness of the sauce.🍷
